Norwegian Bliss, the largest vessel ever for Norwegian Cruise Line, made its debut in 2018. Other notable new ships that year included Icon of the Seas, the first ship of Royal Caribbean's Icon class.

Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas

Icon of the Seas is currently the largest cruise ship in service, having surpassed Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas since late January 2024. With a capacity of 5,200 guests and a gross tonnage of 230,000, it's a true giant of the seas.

In 2023, sixteen new ships are scheduled to be delivered, making it the biggest year for new ship deliveries since 2001, when 17 ships hit the market.
